Responsibilities
- Melt and fuse metals
- Join piping & metal structures in a range of construction & manufacturing industries
- Use various welding machines & basic tools
- Read and interpret blueprints & weld symbols

Entrance Requirements
If you don’t have Grade 12, contact Saskatchewan Apprenticeship and Trades Commission to have your academic qualifications assessed.
Apprenticeship Program:
Approximately 3 years, includes Safety, UA Local Apprenticeship and Provincial Apprenticeship training, as well as 270 hours of technical training and 1,530 hours of on-the-job training each year. Journeyperson certificate awarded after successful completion. As an apprentice, you also earn while you learn.
